Sunday Highlight: April 19, 2026
Kevin Rodgers spent 27 years as a missionary in Africa serving as a cluster leader, training African missionaries, and teaching in a local seminary. He was convinced he would remain there indefinitely.
So, when Kevin sensed the Lord calling him back to the United States to teach at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, he was surprised. In 2024, he joined the faculty as a professor of missions and now sees this new role as the right place and time to serve.
Kevin uses his classroom to share real-world missions experience, teaching students how to engage and share the Gospel across cultures. He also connects with missionary kids through a campus fellowship he helped launch for students whose parents served on the mission field.
Kevin became a follower of Jesus in college and remembers how his own seminary education shaped his calling. Now, he gets to be that influence for future missionaries, helping them discover their place in the world and in the Great Commission.
Through the Cooperative Program, our church supports Kevin’s ministry both overseas and in the classroom. Pray for Kevin and his wife, Suzie, as they train up the next generation of missionaries.
