Sunday Highlight: September 27, 2026
Missionaries Dean and Sybil Polk need our prayers as they serve Central Asian church planters through the International Mission Board.
Though Dean and Sybil cannot live among the people they serve, their commitment to reaching Central Asia with the Gospel remains strong. They meet regularly with national partners who travel to them for training and retreats. These gatherings offer more than instruction — they provide community, fellowship, and encouragement.
The believers they partner with serve in difficult regions, often facing intense scrutiny and hostility. In places where the Polks may not be welcomed, their partners continue to share the Gospel. Despite the challenges, doors are opening.
One global partner recently started a Bible study in their home. A couple began attending—the wife had never been part of a church, and the husband, though not yet a believer, is curious about the faith. Dean and Sybil are hopeful this will be a breakthrough moment in their partners’ ministry.
In addition to their long-distance work, the Polks invest in their local community, their children’s school, and their church.
Pray for the advancement of the Gospel in Central Asia. Dean and Sybil ask for prayer for increased missionary pipelines, visa access for global partners, and greater reach into areas of lostness.
