What is a Shaka and what does it mean?

09/11/2023

Speaker: Ikaika Higa

Topic: HPBC Life

Pastor Ikaika Higa talks about the Shaka you see in Hawaii. What is it, how to do it (and how not to do it), and what does it mean.

The Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention asked Ikaika Higa to discuss cultural issues that would benefit anyone coming to serve Christ in Hawaii.

Ikaika is pastor of Hāmama Community Church on the Windward side of O’ahu.

Ikaika was raised on Maui, while his wife, Stacey, grew up in Indiana. They met at Gateway Seminary, and both shared a desire to tell others about Jesus in ways that speak to their hearts. Ikaika and Stacey are not perfect people, but they serve a perfect God who loves each of us. Learn more about their ministry at hamamachurch.org
