Dr. Matt Queen serves as Associate Dean, L.R. Scarborough Chair of Evangelism (“Chair of Fire”), and Associate Professor of Evangelism in the Roy J. Fish School of Evangelism and Missions. He is married to Hope and has two daughters, Madison and Matia. He and his family are members of Lane Prairie Baptist Church, Joshua, Texas.
Dr. Queen’s research and writing focus primarily on the gospel message, personal evangelism, and congregational evangelism. His dissertation, “A Theological Assessment of the Gospel Content in Selected Southern Baptist Sources,” explores and assess the way that Southern Baptists’ have articulated the gospel message throughout their history. Dr. Queen books include A Passion for the Great Commission, Everyday Evangelism, Mobilize to Evangelize, and And You Will Be My Witnesses. He has also contributed several articles to books and journals, including “Seeking the Lost and Perishing” and “Bringing the Gospel Home: A Biblical Examination of Home Evangelism in Acts.”
Dr. Queen evangelizes with students weekly through Everyday Evangelism, an initiative that encourages students to share the Gospel wherever they are with whomever they meet. His previous church ministry includes serving as a pastor, associate pastor for evangelism and discipleship, and minister of students and music. He regularly leads Evangelism Workshops and preaches in churches.
