Sunday Highlight: January 21, 2024
What’s the one thing missionaries need to know? There are a lot of things. But, the main thing those missionaries must know intimately and well is the Bible. Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary does just that.
Two of our missionaries, Thomas and Samantha, prepared for serving overseas by attending and graduating from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary — one of our six Bible-believing seminaries our church and many others support through the Cooperative Program. Southeastern cost Thomas and Samantha a lot less because of that support.
They went to China with their four kids and were able to serve three years before the government blacklisted them and they had to leave. Now they’re in a Southeast Asian country, still sharing Christ with Chinese — in this case, Chinese immigrants. They’re learning a second language to make their witness stronger.
Aren’t you glad that, through the Cooperative Program, our church is supporting a courageous family like this as they literally go to the ends of the earth to share the precious gospel? Let’s pray for Thomas and Samantha. And let’s pray for Southeastern Seminary and its great ministry of equipping Kingdom workers for our nation and world.
