Sunday Highlight: September 28, 2025

Today let’s pray for one of our missionaries in Bogotá, Colombia.

Matthew Fisher is one of the more than 3,500 overseas missionaries our church supports through the Cooperative Program as we partner with our International Mission Board.

We know the Bible teaches us to bear one another’s burdens as we serve Christ. Matthew has a 10-week program to focus on that.

He works with small groups and teaches members how to identify past trauma in their lives and how to keep it from being a burden. He calls it the “Healing Hearts” ministry.

One man had trouble believing God’s promises; he learned it was because in earlier times, he had problems with his father. Now his Christian faith is stronger.

Each group includes a church planter. As the sessions end, the group begins to talk about the Christian faith. Many continue to meet and become followers of Christ.

So far, three new churches have been planted; more are expected.

Let’s thank God for the healing that has come to many, and for the new churches being planted.

Let’s ask God to bless Matthew in his ministry of helping people trust Jesus and put down their burdens forever.
