Sunday Highlight: May 4, 2025
It’s a great joy at times to think about young people who are preparing for future Kingdom service. We want to pray for one of those today.
David McElrath is preparing for a lifetime of Christian service as he studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
Our church is supporting David because part of our Cooperative Program dollars go to Midwestern—one of the six Bible-believing Southern Baptist seminaries across the United States. That means he can attend seminary for much less cost than other schools.
David is working towards a Master of Divinity in Christian Education and a Master of Biblical Studies in Biblical Languages. That means he will be able to study the Bible deeply and then teach those truths with clarity.
He’s also learning by doing: He’s a ministry intern and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lenexa, Kansas.
Missions dust settled on David early: His parents were Southern Baptist missionaries in North Africa. He also served as an intern at a Baptist church in Hawaii.
He’s able to encourage other students preparing for missions. Let’s pray for David as equips himself — and ask God to use him mightily in Kingdom work!
