Sunday Highlight: September 21, 2025
Let’s go to Pennsylvania for our missions prayer time.
Two of our North American missionaries, Brent and Emily Phillips, are serving with their four children in New Kensington. That’s a city beside the Allegheny River, northeast of Greater Pittsburgh.
About 2.4 million people live in the Pittsburgh metro area but there are only a few evangelical churches representing Christ. New Kensington is known for high crime and economic struggles.
Brent and Emily are Kentucky natives and moved here to plant Reclamation Church — the only Southern Baptist church in the area. God called Brent to be a church planter soon after he was saved during his high school days.
The church holds block parties and sponsors a Celebrate Recovery ministry as members try to engage people with the gospel and help them find Christ. Both Brent and Emily have seminary degrees in biblical counseling.
It is not an easy ministry, but needs are urgent!
Our church supports Brent and Emily through our Cooperative Program giving, partnering with our North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Let’s pray now for Brent and Emily and their four children. Let’s ask God to help them lead thousands of lost people to Christ.
