Sunday Highlight: January 12, 2025
Today, let’s pray for a road warrior. Bob Scott had the kind of life they make reality shows about — he drove 18-wheeler trucks for 40 years and racked up four million miles!
Now, that was from Fairbanks, Alaska, where he lived with his wife, Julie, and their three children. So, yes, Bob knows about driving in snow!
After their children grew up and left home, God put Bob and Julie on a new road — a missions road. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky, so Bob could study at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
That’s one of six seminaries in the country our church helps support through the Cooperative Program.
When Bob completes his master of divinity degree at Southern, he will become a traveling chaplain. He’ll preach in worship services at truck stops across Canada and the United States — including Alaska.
Bob said, “I need to have that training so I can impart the truth better.” Our Cooperative Program helps keep Bob’s expenses low.
Let’s pray that Bob and Julie can travel safely. And let’s rejoice that many truckers will leave a truck stop with fuel, coffee, maybe a pack of Twinkies — and the gospel of Jesus Christ!
