Sunday Highlight: December 27, 2026
Scotty and Jessica Santiago serve as chaplains through Passion for Prison, a ministry focused on edifying and evangelizing those who are presently, previously, or potentially incarcerated. As part of their outreach, the ministry sends Scripture cards to inmates on their birthdays and at Christmas.
The Santiagos ride motorcycles into state prisons, county jails, and federal penitentiaries, primarily in Florida, to share the Gospel with men, women, and juveniles. “Most inmates don’t care about God, church, or religion,” Jessica says. “But they’ll come out to look at a motorcycle.” That opens the door to share Christ.
Each week, they lead a two-hour chapel service focused on discipleship, like Sunday School. After release, former inmates are encouraged to stay in touch. “We either attend their church or take them with us,” Jessica says. “It helps us ensure their church is Christ-centered and gives us a chance to mentor them further.”
Through the Cooperative Program, our church supports chaplains like the Santiagos with training, resources, and fellowship opportunities. Pray that the Lord will provide for the Santiagos’ daily needs as they minister behind and beyond prison walls.
