Sunday Highlight: March 22, 2026
It’s often said that “the nations are coming to America,” and nowhere is that more evident than in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. With 27% of the region’s population made up of international residents from 120 countries, the diversity is undeniable.
This global reach is what inspired church planter Greg Gibson to launch Nations Church, a local church with a global impact. The vision began in 2022, when Greg and his family were preparing to move to Kyiv, Ukraine, to plant churches across Eastern Europe and the Russian-speaking world. But when Moscow invaded Kyiv in February 2022, those plans were paused.
Instead, the Gibsons felt called to anchor in the greater D.C. area, a strategic hub for global influence. In early 2023, God burdened them to plant a church that would make disciples of all nations by reaching their neighbors. With confirmation from their sending church, the North American Mission Board, and the Times 12 church planting network, Nations Church was born.
In 2024, Nations Church launched public services at Mercer Middle School in Loudoun County. Just weeks later, they commissioned their first missionary to Warsaw, Poland.
Pray for Pastor Greg and Nations Church as they continue building relationships and making disciples in their community.
