Sunday Highlight: May 25, 2025
In our prayer time today, we’re going to focus on Taiwan where two of our missionaries are serving.
We’ll call them Peter and Ruby. They are working with Vietnamese refugees who have settled in Taiwan. Many of these refugees have lived through unspeakable horrors as they looked for safety. The women especially.
Peter and Ruby have served as missionaries with our International Mission Board for more than 25 years.
When Ruby talks to these refugees, she sees herself.
That’s because she was born in Vietnam but left during the war when she was just 18. She spent two years in a refugee camp. That’s where missionaries told her about Jesus Christ.
When Ruby finally got to the United States, she settled in Fort Worth, Texas, specifically in a church whose Vietnamese pastor was Peter, her future husband. When God called them to overseas service, they went to Taiwan to work with Vietnamese refugees.
Our church supports Peter and Ruby through our Cooperative Program giving.
As we pray today for Peter and Ruby and their ministry, let’s remember that they are two of the more than 5,300 overseas missionaries we are supporting.
