Sunday Highlight: October 6, 2024
Today in our missions prayer time, let’s pray for one of our missionaries we’ll call Erik, who serves in Central Asia. There’s a relatively small handful of believers here. It’s hard to talk to people about Jesus. But computers are helping.
Erik and a team of local believers are placing ads on social media. The ads invite questions about Jesus, questions about the Bible, questions about God. Each ad carries a link or a QR code to a local church or believer. People start by asking questions, but many agree to start a Bible study. That leads to one-on-one gospel sharing and more people hearing the gospel.
One reason for good response rates is that many young people have had it with the non-Christian religion that rules here. They are looking for something better. That’s why they click on an ad offering just that. Some of us don’t get all the computer stuff and what’s a QR code anyway? But if that’s leading people to faith in Christ, let’s go for it!
Our church is supporting Erik there in that Asian city through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray that many will find Jesus, computer-assisted or otherwise!
