Sunday Highlight: November 23, 2025
For our missions prayer time, let’s go to Brazil, South America.
Well, first, to South Korea. I don’t mean to confuse you, but our missionaries we’re going to pray for today are Wang and Hyeonah Lee, who grew up in South Korea.
Later they moved to the U.S.: Hyeonah to study piano and Wang to attend seminary. Separate missions trips led each of them called to missions.
That led them moving with their three children to São Paulo, Brazil, to serve as our missionaries. Our church will be supporting them through our Cooperative Program giving.
They will be teaching the Bible to Brazilians in a theological program.
Hyeonah said they adapted well to life in America, so she thinks they will do well in Brazil. It will help that South Korea and Brazil have been sister nations for 60 years — Brazilians love stuff from South Korea, like South Korean pop music (K-pop), movies and the like.
More than 50,000 South Koreans live in São Paulo. That’s just a drop in the huge city’s population of some 60 million. The city has more people than many countries.
Let’s pray for Wang and Hyeonah.
