Sunday Highlight: December 19
Today in our prayer time let’s pray for Wade and Sharon Sigrest. They serve on an island that’s in the Philippines, on the other side of the planet from the United States. There are more than 7,000 islands in the Philippines, so let’s be more specific and say they serve on the island of Cebu. Wade and Sharon have planted a house church they hope will be the first of many new churches.
Two brothers named BJ and Melbert, high school students, began attending. Melbert had become a Christian after reading the Bible. Then he shared the gospel with BJ, who also committed his life to Christ.
BJ said he wanted to attend a Bible school and so Wade began discipling him. But when the virus pandemic struck the Philippines, they could not meet. So they switched to cellphones. One day BJ asked Wade to wait till he could get a better signal. Then he said to go ahead. Wade found later BJ had climbed a tree and sat there for the whole lesson, just so he could hear.
Our church supports Wade and Sharon through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray for them now.
Thank you for learning more about the ways your church’s gifts through the Cooperative Program are the financial fuel for reaching every person for Jesus Christ in every town, every city, every state, and every nation. Connect the offering plate to the mission field with “52 Sundays” resources.
