After hosting a Fall Festival Party where more people from the community around the church attended than they ever imagined would come, Pastor Jamie McElrath wanted Olivet Baptist Church to continue to impact their surrounding community for Christ. They requested funds from the Sue Nishikawa Offering to help the church plan an Easter Outreach with the hopes of reaching even more of their immediate community with the Gospel.
The plans were made for an Easter morning celebration on the property that included a breakfast for the community with games, activities, and an Easter Egg hunt for the children. Games for each age group were staffed by adult Sunday School members and members of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Crafts for the children were offered around the church grounds. At every station, the gospel was presented in an age-appropriate way.
Members of Olivet Baptist Church received evangelism training so they would be prepared to share the gospel as they talked to the guests who attended the Easter Celebration. An estimated 300 children and adults attended this event.
The Sue Nishikawa Offering is available to help churches of all sizes plan outreach events in their communities to impact them for eternity.
