Sunday Highlight: October 5, 2025
Well, in our prayer time today, we’re going to Beach City!
No, put down your sunscreen because it’s not at the beach. It’s a town in Ohio, about 40 miles south of Akron. By the way, the city was named after a railroad official whose name was Beach.
Nick and Anna Abraham are our missionaries in Beach City. They gathered a 50-person team to plant Reformation Bible Church. The church is reaching out to three other towns in the area, united mostly by being in the same school district.
Economic hard times have come to this area. Small towns already reeling from 21st-century changes have been thinned by conditions. People used to working hard have found themselves out of work. Many local churches have closed in recent years.
The church bought an old church building on Main Street in Beach City and renovated it into a nice facility. Nick hopes the new building will be a beacon of hope to the community — and show them the church means to stay. The church also sponsors an after-school ministry.
Our church is helping support Nick and Anna and that new church through the Cooperative Program.
Let’s pray for them.
