Why? To equip pastors, church staff, and church leaders in the areas of sharing the gospel, strategic planning, developing teams, and basic leadership training.

How? Bringing hand-picked seasoned practitioners in these areas to provide practical training on the multiple Hawaiian Islands.

Location – Waialae Baptist Church

• Friday, September 21 – 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Session 1
• Saturday, September 22 – 8:30 – noon Sessions 2, 3, and 4

DETAILS ABOUT GENERAL TRAINING SESSIONS

Terry Dorsett, Executive Director for New England Baptists. Terry will lead four sessions with a focus on developing leadership teams in the smaller church.

Nathan Lorick, Executive Director for Colorado Baptists. Nathan will lead four sessions on motivation, mobilization, strategy, implementation and next steps to share the gospel.
“Motivating and Mobilizing the Church to Share the Gospel.”
1. Motivating and mobilizing yourself and individuals in your church to share the gospel.
2. Developing a strategy in your church for ongoing evangelism.
3. Keys for implementing a gospel-sharing strategy.
4. Next steps to really making it happen and sustaining motivation.

Kenneth Priest, Director of Convention Strategies for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. Kenneth will lead for sessions to help churches develop a shared strategy to revitalize the church they serve.
“Strategical Planning to Envision a Better Future for Your Church.”
1. Understanding strategic planning – the basics.
2. The first steps of creating a strategic plan to revitalize your church.
3. Navigating the first steps (how to bring leaders together to create a plan).
4. Implementing your strategy to bring new life to your church.

Terry Dorsett

Executive Director for New England Baptists

Dr. Terry W. Dorsett is the Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of New England. He has served in New England since 1994 – first as a pastor, then as a church planter, a director of missions and finally a church planting catalyst before becoming BCNE executive director in 2015. He is passionate about multiplying Christ-followers in New England. He is the author of Developing Leadership Teams

Nathan Lorick

Executive Director for Colorado Baptists

Dr. Nathan Lorick is the Executive Director for Colorado Baptists. He currently serves as a trustee for the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned both a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree. He also holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Louisiana Baptist University. He and his wife Jenna live in Texas with their four children. Nathan has been a guest on media outlets such as “Fox and Friends,” “Glen Beck Radio,” “American Family Radio,” “Tony Perkins Live” and many others for taking a stand for religious freedom. His passion to see culture transformed by the power of the gospel sets him apart in his generation. He is a sought out speaker who unashamedly unveils the truths of Scripture concerning today’s most pressing issues. Nathan is the author of “Dying to Grow” as well as the initiator of the 1Cross app that shares the gospel in over 60 languages and the “Game Plan” evangelism initiative. When not traveling Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, reading and running.

Kenneth Priest

Director of Convention Strategies for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention

Kenneth Priest serves the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention as the Director of Convention Strategies. He joined the staff of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention in 2008. Kenneth serves as an adjunct professor in church revitalization at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and adjunct professor of evangelism and church growth at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Texas and North Carolina in various roles of evangelism, educational ministry, and second chair leadership. While serving the SBTC, Kenneth has had the privilege of serving in the role of interim education minister in several churches in DFW. He holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has a Doctor of Educational Ministry degree in Church Revitalization from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kenneth is married to Debbi.
