Sunday Highlight: July 11
Today in our prayer time, let’s go to Africa. We want to pray for two of our missionaries who serve in Kenya, which is on Africa’s east coast. Daniel and Kristen Lowry have lived near Nairobi, Kenya’s largest city, with their two young children since 2018. Daniel is a professor at Kenya Baptist Theological College and Seminary.
Since 85.5 percent of Kenyans call themselves Christians, that might seem an easy job. But students come to the school with many false notions and misunderstandings about Jesus. Daniel teaches class after class what the Bible really teaches so students will depart to serve who are saturated with biblical truth. Further, Daniel wants the students to know how to preach, teach and minister in practical ways so they can plant new churches, preach and disciple believers across years to come — all based on the Bible.
Our church supports Daniel and Kristen through our Cooperative Program giving. Through our International Mission Board, our church also supports many other missionaries across Africa the same way. Let’s thank the Lord for Daniel’s ministry of teaching truth and ask that wisdom be granted to him and all his students.
Thank you for learning more about the ways your church’s gifts through the Cooperative Program are the financial fuel for reaching every person for Jesus Christ in every town, every city, every state, and every nation. Connect the offering plate to the mission field with “52 Sundays” resources.
