Sunday Highlight: January 10
Let’s focus our prayers on the West Coast of our country today. We are going to pray for two of our North American missionaries planting a new church in Oakland, California.
They are Akeem and Jaime Smith. Our church is supporting them — because our church supports these two missionaries and thousands of others through the Cooperative Program. Oakland is across the bay from San Francisco. It’s an area with people from many lands. Our missionaries moved to Oakland in 2018. They started meeting people and sharing the gospel.
The first person they baptized said he was an atheist — until he understood Jesus and the plan of salvation available to him! Now he is a Christian. Many of the people Akeem and Jaime work with are immigrants. The church often provides food to people struggling to get by in the city. Let’s pray for Akeem and Jaime as they serve the Lord out there on the West Coast. Let’s pray they will grow a strong church which will bring many to faith in Christ.
Thank you for learning more about the ways your church’s gifts through the Cooperative Program are the financial fuel for reaching every person for Jesus Christ in every town, every city, every state, and every nation. Connect the offering plate to the mission field with “52 Sundays” resources.
