Sunday Highlight: November 1, 2026
Reinaldo and Coralys Reyes are planting Iglesia Bíblica Luz Eterna (IBLE) in Cidra, Puerto Rico. The church is being developed from their sending church, Iglesia Bautista de Buena Vista (IBBV) in Cayey, which noticed that 40 percent of its members were from Cidra. This revealed a clear need for a healthy Southern Baptist church in the area.
During Reinaldo’s time in the Send Puerto Rico church planter residency, IBBV began small group gatherings in Cidra. “When I returned, I joined in and continued the work of evangelism and discipleship already in motion,” Reinaldo said. “It’s been beautiful to witness how God blesses simple faithfulness.”
They Reyes family is seeing lives changed. Within a few months, a young couple came to faith, were baptized, and are now actively serving in the church plant. Church planting hasn’t been easy. Reinaldo and Coralys became parents during the residency and welcomed their second child while planting.
“Balancing ministry and family have been a challenge,” Reinaldo said. “But God has surrounded us with a faithful team and a sending church that reminds us that churches plant churches.”
Pray for wisdom, protection, and guidance as the Reyes family continues to glorify Jesus in Cidra.
