Sunday Highlight: September 13, 2026
Though there was nothingness in every direction out of Bar Nunn, Wyoming, Tyler and Ashley Martin moved there as church planting missionaries because they saw something in all that nothing.
“In Wyoming, there are 203 places, mostly small towns, you can have as a mailing address,” Tyler said. “More than 60 of those don’t have a church of any kind. And God told us, ‘Those people need the Gospel too.’”
That “something” became Outfitter Church. Now, Tyler is training men in the congregation to reach those small, out-of-the-way places. Because Wyoming is so spread out and resources are limited, church planters must come from within the church. This need inspired the creation of circuit preaching teams to plant churches across the state.
“Towns that have never had a church ever in their history,” Tyler said. “Now we’re going to get the Gospel to them.”
Through the Cooperative Program, churches help missionaries like Tyler and Ashley Martin start churches in small, hard-to-reach places. Pray this week that other churches in Wyoming will recognize and respond to the Gospel needs around them.
