Sunday Highlight: August 16, 2026
Jonathan had no prior experience with church planting. He only knew that his diverse community of Federal Way, Washington, where more than 100 languages are spoken, needed a multiethnic church, and God was calling him to start one.
As Jonathan and his family stepped through the doors God opened, Connections Church was born. Soon, 20 refugee children began attending. Jonathan wondered why they chose his church, and God made it clear: they had planted a church to reach all nations, and He was bringing the nations to them.
Jonathan began searching for a Farsi- and Arabic-speaking pastor to help shepherd the growing congregation. That’s when he met Jamal. Together, they now plan to plant an Arabic-speaking church in metro Seattle to reach the local Muslim population.
“I never asked for any of this, but God brought it to us,” Jonathan said. “I sense that because we’re open to what God would like to do in our community, He brings us opportunities. Though we don’t have everything in place, we’re willing to obey.”
Supporting the Cooperative Program helps take the Gospel to the nations in Washington. Pray that God will continue to bring the nations to Connections Church.
