4. BCM Spring Break Mission Trip to Jordan—departure date March 23, 2012: News via Luke Summey,

a. Seven students and one Pastor/campus minister (UH--Manoa) are currently preparing to spend their spring break spending one on one time with believing Arab college students, their families and their Muslim friends. Our purpose in the Middle East will be to love on the believers there, share with them our experiences here in Hawai'i, and to teach them in their own home and hang-out spots how to live out this missional lifestyle to reach their lost friends. Roughly 95% of the country we are going to is Muslim and less than 1% is evangelical. They have plenty of unreached friends to share the love of Christ with.

b. One of the needs is financial support and prayer-support.

i. The total group costs for 8 people is $16,800. The cost per person will be about $2100. Purchasing tickets early is a cost savings. Any assistance you feel lead to give will be appreciated.

ii. Students are saving money and doing fund raising events for this mission. You may help by sending contributions to Financial support, BCM Oahu, 2042 Vancouver drive, Honolulu, HI 96822; Designate offering to "BCM Jordan Team"

5. Puu Kahea Capital Improvements Campaign revisited: As a refresher, The PKCC Capital Improvements Campaign launched in September 2009, was put on hold to allow the Convention time to raise funds for purchasing adjacent property to the PKConference Center. Unfortunately, the property purchase fell through due to insufficient funds. We are therefore back to the original plan of developing our existing property. The Capital Improvements Campaign of raising $500,000 to add new facilities on campus is back in motion. The funds generated through the Capital Improvements Campaign will be used to build new hotel type accommodations for adult conferencing, additional conference rooms to house multiple groups at one time, two new units for dormitory housing and the construction of a permanent Steele Pavilion for large group worship. The Capital Improvement Fund has a balance of $26,898.73 as of January 31, 2012. Send contributions to Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention, 2042 Vancouver Drive, Honolulu, 96822 designated for the PKCC Capital Improvement Fund.
